Your Hot-Weather Guide to Combatting Oily Skin

This time of year (with its melting temperatures & wayward weather) seems to be when we all need beauty products the most!!! When getting out of your cool snuggly bed & preparing to brave the elements, a little push by way of a much-needed beauty boost can make all the difference. And nothing's better after a long day in the heat than to enjoy a night of pampering.

As you may have noticed, I take beauty very seriously. Therefore, each of these beauty products has been selected with care to combat one of the most obnoxious side effects of summer: oily skin. I know that while you're focused on finals & trying to get in & out of the heat as quickly as possible, perfectly smooth hands might not be your top priority. However, achieving smooth skin in summer is doable without going too much outside of your regular routine: I promise!!

   1. Cleanse!!!

Not more than twice a day, with a gentle cleanser, suitable for oily skin. Avoid alcohol based cleansers.

Left to right: Neutrogena Facial Cleanser/ Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser/ Lancome Deep Purifying Cleanser

   2. Moisturize!!

Oily skin makes its own lubrication but you should also want to moisturize it as well. Use water based moisturizers. Moisturizing is crucial if you've combination skin.

Left to right: Clinique Superdefense Triple Action Moisturizer for Oily Skin SPF 25/ Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream/ Lush Enzymion Moisturizer for Oily Skin

   3. Cover!!

Make sure to use makeup that doesn't clog the pores & is oil-free. There're really good foundations for oily skin these days that control the shine & keep the skin matte.

Left to right: Lancome Adaptive Foundation for Oily Skin/ Revlon Colorstay Foundation/ L'Oreal Paris True Match Natural Mineral Foundation

After following these 3 steps, you should be well on your way to having the best skin around. Now I wanna know your thoughts. So let me know: what're your secrets for good summer skin??? Which products are your favorites???

Sukin Rosehip oil review

Is your skin feeling a little dull? Do you want to improve your overall skin condition? I have found a excellent product that I love and am so glad I tried. The Sukin Rosehip Oil is fantastic. I bought it from Priceline when it was on sale as I have heard really great things about using rosehip oil.
I have tried a few Sukin products and really like them, so I was interested to see how the Sukin Rosehip Oil will work.

Sukin says: Sukin 100% Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil contains no less than 80% essential fatty acids necessary for protecting cell membranes, skin healing vitamin E, beta carotene and the powerful anti-ageing antioxidant, lycopene.
Rosehip oil can be used to soothe irritated or dry skin as well as an everyday treatment oil.

Sukin’s rosehip oil is cold pressed harnessed from the seeds of wild Chilean grown rosehips via a solvent-free extraction process to retain the oils precious actives for optimal performance.
This unique oil feeds your skin vital nutrients to promote healthy skin, assists skin renewal and repair and can help treat problem skin conditions.

The Sukin Rosehip Oil comes in a 2.5ml dropper bottle. The actual product is a thick oil that you only need two to three drops to massage onto your whole face. It feels really nice and soft on the skin and is absorbed quite quickly. I did talk about this in my latest you tube video if you want to watch that here.

I apply this at night and the next morning my skin feels amazing. It feels rejuvenated, hydrated and my skin looks brighter. My redness was gone that I usually have on my cheeks. I have combination skin, so I was worried that this might be too oily for my skin, but it wasn't. When applied just enough to cover the face (remember not too much!) it works amazing.
This is great for all skin types and I would definitely recommend it as a great product to use in a skincare routine. The ingredients in this product are fantastic for the skin and it is 100% organic which is great.

If your looking for something to improve your overall skin health and give you that improved look then this is a must try! The Sukin rosehip oils is affordable and can be found for just under $20.
